Morgan Haines

Morgan’s slip cast ceramics are a fun, whimsical mix of religious & cultural motifs set against a minimalistic palette & simple, economical forms that often reference & pay tribute to iconic New Zealand Pottery, Crown Lynn. 
 
Morgan has a background in hospitality; having lived, worked, & travelled as a chef in New Zealand & abroad. She began her exploration of ceramics in 2009 from her dining room table. She now works from a studio on her Sandspit property just North of Auckland. 

The inspiration for Morgan’s ceramics spring from various sources including her travels to Europe & Mexico, but she credits her parents as her greatest source of motivation. Her father is a sculptor who taught her how to make molds for slip casting & her mother, who creates in her chaotic, vibrant sewing room.
