Originally from Oita - Japan, Koji Miyazaki graduated from 'Hiko Mizuno College of Jewellery'. Koji spent some years working & developing his artistry skill in England before immigrating to New Zealand in 1991. Koji Miyazaki's contemporary jewellery work has been extensively represented throughout New Zealand in various group & solo exhibitions.
Throughout Koji's jewellery designs, he aims to achieve balance & harmony known as (Wabi-Sabi) - Wabi, the quietness of artistic attraction & Sabi, & elegant simplicity. It is of great importance to Koji that he finds a perfect balance & harmony between his two cultures & achieves this through his artistic skill. Miyazaki works with varying precious metals - silver & gold, pearls & even sand to create his jewellery statements.
Inspired by the endless possibilities, Koji is always applying himself to learn new techniques & improve his craft of contemporary jewellery.
