Part of Mary Schollum's Vessels of Excess series, Salted Caramel pairs a rich, chocolate-brown base with flowing pink and buttery yellow glazes that cascade from the rim. The layered colours melt and pool together in beautifully unpredictable ways, creating a surface that feels both indulgent and full of movement.

Celebrating abundance over restraint, Schollum embraces the spontaneity of glaze in motion, finding beauty in layered surfaces, rich textures, and the unexpected. The result is a one-of-a-kind ceramic work that is both sculptural and expressive.

Each work in the series may be fired up to ten times, placing considerable demands on both the clay and the glaze. As a result of this intensive process, these vessels are intended as sculptural artworks and should not be considered watertight.
