Raukaraka Pounamu Toki | Dean Marjoribanks
Raukaraka, Te Tai Poutini
Handcrafted by Dean Marjoribanks, this Toki is carved from Raukaraka pounamu sourced from Te Tai Poutini. The stone’s warm olive tones and natural charcoal patterning give the piece its own distinctive character, while the clean rectangular form and bevelled edge reflect the enduring simplicity of traditional toki design.
Finished with a carefully bound adjustable black cord by Ivana, Dean’s wife, this taonga sits beautifully as a piece to be worn and treasured. A thoughtful expression of craftsmanship, material, and tradition.
Meaning of the Toki
