Part of Mary Schollum's Vessels of Excess series, Primary Passion II celebrates the energy of colour through bold layers of primary hues flowing across a vibrant yellow base. Glazes melt, pool, and overlap in beautifully unpredictable ways, creating a playful composition full of movement, depth, and expressive character.

Celebrating abundance over restraint, Schollum embraces the spontaneity of glaze in motion, finding beauty in layered surfaces, rich textures, and the unexpected. The result is a one-of-a-kind ceramic work that is both sculptural and expressive.

Each work in the series may be fired up to ten times, placing considerable demands on both the clay and the glaze. As a result of this intensive process, these vessels are intended as sculptural artworks and should not be considered watertight.
