This limited-edition print by Paora Tiatoa powerfully fuses Star Wars iconography with traditional Māori design.

The artwork features a central Darth Vader figure and surrounding Stormtroopers, all rendered in black and white. Their armor is meticulously overlaid with traditional Māori patterns (kōwhaiwhai and tāniko).

Titled "Poi Trooper," the piece is highlighted by the orange poi (Māori performance prop) held by the central figure, underscoring the cultural fusion.

This series uses pop culture to explore the complexities of a modern Māori worldview in a globalised society.
