Kōkopu Pounamu Toki | Dean Marjoribanks
Kōkopu, Te Tai Poutini
Handcrafted by Dean Marjoribanks, this Toki is carved from Kōkopu pounamu sourced from Te Tai Poutini. Known for its distinctive green tones and natural dark markings, Kōkopu pounamu carries a unique depth and character, with each stone revealing its own patterns shaped by the land.
The clean rectangular form and bevelled edge reflect the enduring simplicity of traditional toki design, while the careful binding by Ivana, Dean’s wife, with an adjustable brown cord provides a warm and refined finish that complements the natural tones of the stone.
Meaning of the Toki
