Collection: Johnathan Percy

Johnathan is a Waikato-based carver originally from Christchurch. From his studio, he works with a variety of materials including Pounamu, Jasper, & Obsidian to produce his beautifully conceived & executed stonework pendants. Some of his materials he forages for himself from various rivers & beaches around Aotearoa. His design focus is a contemporary take on traditional forms influenced by his love of nature & New Zealand’s rich birdlife. An immaculate finish & an exceptional eye for detail are hallmarks of Johnathon’s work.

Johnathan developed his skill-base while studying for his Diploma in Jade & Hard Stone Carving at Tai Poutini Polytechnic. His long-standing fascination with his medium stems from an interest in the use of stone by humankind through the ages & the role this has played in our evolution.
