Collection: Strahan Clarke

An Auckland-based potter and painter with over 14 years of practice, Strahan Clarke creates stoneware vessels that transcend pure functionality. Each piece is gas-fired in reduction to cone 10, resulting in richly layered surfaces that serve as a canvas for his narrative-driven work.

Drawing on astrology, history, and personal experience, Strahan’s ceramics feature recurring motifs of stars, flowers, and constellations. Shifting away from mass production, he now focuses on bespoke sets and one-off pieces that explore the concept of preciousness. He invites us to reflect on the deep connection between surface, form, and story.
