Royce McGlashen is one of Aotearoa’s foremost Master Potters. His contribution to the world of ceramics is indisputable. When you choose a piece from Royce’s homeware range, you are privileged to participate in an enduring & impressive legacy. Functional tableware has long been a cornerstone of Royce’s production. His contemporary range of bowls & platters are inspired by New Zealand’s unique natural heritage, & is designed & manufactured at his Brightwater studio in Nelson.

Royce completed his apprenticeship in pottery at Waimea Pottery in 1971. Since then, his love of pottery has seen him travel the world extensively, exhibiting, teaching & representing Aotearoa at international ceramic events. He has been accepted as a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (Geneva) & received an MBE for his Services to Pottery in 1989.

Royce continues to exhibit & receive awards; his one-off works are being held in multiple national & international collections including The Suter Gallery, Otago Museum, Atelier D’Art De France, The American Museum of Ceramic Art & the Benaki Museum in Athens amongst others.
