David McLeod
Dunedin-based Jeweller, David McLeod explores narrative themes in his work, bringing to life the maker's perspective. He typically uses metal, stone, shell, & other carved & constructed elements.
David attended Art School in Dunedin majoring in sculpture & subsequently went on to teach at various tertiary institutions in the South Island whilst continuing a career as a Sculptor. In 1998, he completed his MFA in Jewellery at Monash University. In 2000, David pursued jewellery full-time.
Now semi-retired, David is enjoying the freedom that his hard work has afforded him. He continues to teach part-time from his workshop where he enjoys the stimulation of diverse ideas & motivations. He looks forward to exploring & revisiting earlier works & giving form to unresolved projects.
His work is held in many private collections & in the Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa, Wellington.
We are proud to support, David Mcleod!
