8 Point Whetū | Red, Black, Blue | Anna Gedson
Anna Gedson explores geometric form and cultural narrative in this striking wall sculpture symbolising the interconnectedness of life.
Inspired by the simple Harakeke (flax) Stars which are often woven for Matariki, the piece features eight tapered wooden points in a symmetrical star configuration.
The heart of the sculpture showcases intricate weaving, interlacing glossy bands of vibrant red and navy blue with natural metallic copper accents.
This bold statement piece establishes a powerful dialogue between traditional Māori weaving patterns (raranga) and contemporary sculptural design, bringing a sophisticated cultural presence to any interior.
Matariki Herenga Waka - A Gathering of Many Voices
A group exhibition to celebrate Matariki, 02 - 12 July 2026
In a shared exploration of connection, six Māori artists contribute to a collective constellation of works. Like the stars of the Matariki cluster, each voice is distinct and yet deeply interconnected.Alex Sands | Anna Gedson | Joanne Barrett | Mat Scott | Medina Koni | Ra Gossage
