This original water-colour is an atmospheric exploration of the New Zealand horizon, where the shore meets the bush.

Meg Cummins utilises a fluid, wet-on-wet technique to capture the transition of light, moving from the golden, sun-drenched sands of the foreground into the deep, misty shadows of the tree line.

Painted on heavy, hand-torn archival paper, the piece celebrates the soft bleeding of colours , ochres, deep forest greens, and charcoal greys that mimic the hazy quality of a coastal morning.

The deckled edges of the paper add a tactile, organic frame to the work, emphasising its nature as a one-of-a-kind physical object.
