Collection: Renée Marjolein

Renée Marjolein is a contemporary New Zealand printmaker based in Ngāruawāhia, Waikato. Time spent road-tripping and camping throughout New Zealand fostered a deep appreciation for the country's unique landscapes and natural textures.

These experiences continue to inform her practice, which is grounded in observation, place, and stillness. Working primarily in woodcut printmaking, Renée is drawn to the tactile and meditative nature of the process.

Her distinctive mark-making captures the form and texture of native foliage, celebrating the joy of recognition within familiar landscapes. Each work is thoughtfully carved and printed by hand in her Waikato studio.

Renée holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching. Alongside her artistic practice, she teaches Introduction to Relief Printmaking at the Waikato Society of Arts.

We are proud to support Renée Marjolein!
