Moana Ki Te Whenua centers on a singular, golden-ochre pendant form, reminiscent of a whale tooth or a large kapeu, representing the treasures yielded by the ocean.

The pendant is suspended from a delicate, dark-inked garland of native botanical forms, weaving together the terrestrial and the marine.

The textured gold of the central object suggests an aged, sun-drenched surface, contrasting beautifully with the fine, skeletal detail of the surrounding foliage.
