Collection: Meg Cummins

Meg Cummins is an Aotearoa-based contemporary artist and illustrator celebrated for her expressive work in oil, watercolour, and mixed media. Having earned a Bachelor of Art and Design (Hons) from AUT, Meg spent several years honing her skills in the commercial art sector before making a decisive return to traditional media in 2024.

Her work is driven by a focus on feeling rather than strict realism. Drawing inspiration from the often-unexpected colours found in nature, Meg develops her pieces through a dedicated exploration of colour, texture, and expressive mark making. Her compositions are rooted in an extensive library of reference photos gathered in New Zealand and abroad, but her true goal is always to capture the emotional experience she felt when standing in those places.
