This collection of pounamu carvings represents some of the most powerful guardians and revered ancestors in Māori culture.

The Hei Tiki is a protective taonga (treasure), often worn as a symbol of a cherished ancestor. The Manaia is a spiritual guardian and messenger, and the Pekapeka (bat) represents a protective spirit.
