In this striking wheel-thrown and hand-built white stoneware vessel, Emma Walker presents a narrative of connection and shared rhythm.

Boundless depicts two merfolk in a moment of quiet recognition, symbolizing a deep sense of belonging to the natural world—an enduring presence that "holds you in return."

Part of the Becoming Myth series, this work explores the fragile tension between environmental abundance and loss.

Walker utilises the sgraffito technique to carve intricate mountain and marine scenes through layers of cobalt blue underglaze. 

The sculptural quality is enhanced by the juxtaposition of matte underglaze and glossy clear-glazed elements, while a distinctive hand-built gold-lustre handle adds a touch of the ethereal.

It is a masterful meditation on biodiversity, capturing a fleeting moment of harmony in a rapidly changing world.
