In this striking ceramic work, Strahan Clarke reinterprets a classic archaeological silhouette, imbuing it with a contemporary organic energy.

Amphora 2 carries a deep sense of lineage, its form echoing ancient histories of storage, transport, and ritual offering. In Clarke's hands, however, the vessel transcends its traditional role of containment to become a study in presence and texture.

The surface is meticulously worked into a repetitive, cell-like pattern that suggests both the rough bark of a native tree and the weathered shells of the coastline.

This tactile, earthy glaze holds a quiet weight of time, as if the object has been reclaimed from the elements.

Resting on its side, the piece invites a shift in perspective, moving away from utility and toward a sculptural exploration of form and memory.
