Sands Carving Studio is based within the Waikato District & collectively the team brings to life the finest creations of traditional Māori designs & contemporary artistic works. Alex Sands is of Māori descent from the tribe Ngāti Kahungunu o Te Wairoa, Aotearoa (New Zealand), & is of European descent from England, Scotland & Ireland.

Alex cultivates & markets the team of carving artists to both national  & international audiences. The Poi Room has built a long-standing relationship with this talented carving Studio & is proud to represent such exceptional talent.
