Part of Mary Schollum's Vessels of Excess series, The Sweetest Thing is a small sculptural vase adorned with soft pastel blue and white glazes. The delicate layers flow across the surface, melting and pooling in beautifully unpredictable ways to create a piece that feels gentle, playful, and full of quiet charm.

Celebrating abundance over restraint, Schollum embraces the spontaneity of glaze in motion, finding beauty in layered surfaces, subtle textures, and the unexpected. The result is a one-of-a-kind ceramic work that captures the joy of colour and the expressive nature of the making process.

Each work in the series may be fired up to ten times, placing considerable demands on both the clay and the glaze. As a result of this intensive process, these vessels are intended as sculptural artworks and should not be considered watertight.
