Simon Lewis-Wards is a contemporary Glassmaker based in the North Island - Auckland, inspired by urban living & kiwi nostalgia. Simon's work has a Pop Art Kiwiana aesthetic, which reflects his upbringing & personality as an Artist.

Ward works predominately with cast glass & ceramics, using techniques of casting & slip casting to create his unique works. Simon's experience as a glassmaker began in his earlier years when assisted within a glass-blowing studio in Ponsonby, NZ. Simon began to take it his hobby seriously upon the return of his friends & fellow glassmakers from the USA. This was the start of Simon's fascination for the 'last wax method' of casting glass & this technic is still a driving forcing within his practice, to this day.

Successfully tapping into the sweet memories of Kiwis, Simon has nationally become a favourite New Zealand Artist.
