This stunning Pūrerehuaa is a traditional Maori musical instrument, also known as a bullroarer, that produces a distinct whirring or humming sound when swung in a circular motion.

It is made using cast glass and features a beautifully carved, blade-like form with a yellow-orange hue. The Pūrerehua has both practical and spiritual significance, used for rituals, communication, and even to call upon rain.

Mike Cameron, an established Multi-Media Artist based in Aotearoa's Northland, created this piece. Mike approaches his work with careful planning and integrity, using rangahau (research) as the basis for all his artworks.
