Anna Hayes-Moeau explores Pacific identity through the intricate craft of raranga (weaving), using the golden fibers of the Kiekie plant to bridge local tradition with a wider regional heritage.

This framed panel harmonises three symbolic patterns: the inner Takirua, signifying strength in unity; the flanking Niho Taniwha, representing stability and connection to whānau; and the Takitaki edges, a universal weave that links all people across cultures.

Presented in a sleek black shadow box, the work transforms an ancient functional art into a sophisticated contemporary statement.

It is a profound celebration of belonging and the threads that connect us to the land and each other.
