Collection: Jim Griffiths

Jim Griffiths is Multi-Media Sculptor based in Auckland. Jim Griffiths has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Design & Photography. When Jim is not creating sculptured artworks he works as a full-time Website Designer. There is a deliberate exclusion of computers & technology within the process of Jim's artworks - this allows him to fully immerse in the tactile art of creating with his hands.

Griffith's is of Māori (Ngāpuhi) & Welsh descent, his work reflects the rich culture of New Zealand. Jim uses native timbers from old villas, bungalows, pieces from pallets & old furniture - anything that has a rich abundance of character & history. Within Jim Griffith's sculptures the remnants of pencil lines, saw cuts, peeling paint, nails & wallpaper all remain as features. No two artworks are the same, each piece has been hand-crafted by Jim.
