The Rifleman (Titipounamu) is a native New Zealand bird. They are found throughout New Zealand, living in mature bush & forests, mainly at higher altitudes.

They are tiny birds with extremely short tails & relatively long beaks.

The males have attractive, bright green feathers on their backs & heads while the females are more brownish in colour.
