In this evocative wheel-thrown white stoneware bowl, Emma Walker explores the profound intersection of movement and stillness.

Edge Of Motion captures a suspended narrative of aquatic tension, symbolising the delicate balance between surrendering to nature's forces and maintaining personal control.

Walker employs a sophisticated combination of techniques to bring the scene to life, using Mishima underglaze inlay to create the precise, flush lines of the rhythmic waves and sgraffito to etch the fine details of the fish.

The result is a work of immense grace, where the surging energy of the ocean meets the silent, focused presence of life beneath the surface.
