Where are you Huia?

The iconic Huia was a striking song bird, mainly black with long white tipped tail feathers. Māori named the bird after its loud distress call, described as a whistle rendered as "uia uia uia" or "where are you"?

The last sighting of a Huia, 2 males and a female, was in 1907.
