Hand-built from locally sourced stoneware, Emma begins by blending underglazes like watercolours for a rich, subtle colour. She then uses the clever sgraffito carving technique—cutting into the clay to sculpt the delicate flowers and reveal the bare clay beneath.

This process gives the piece that beautiful, high-contrast detail. It’s finished with a vibrant clear glaze to really lock in the colour and enhance the texture.
