This limited-edition print by Paora Tiatoa powerfully fuses the iconic C-3PO figure from Star Wars with intricate traditional Māori design .
The artwork features the golden droid rendered in stark yellow and black. The entire figure is meticulously overlaid with complex Māori patterns (kōwhaiwhai and tāniko), transforming the droid's mechanical form into a cultural vessel.
He is depicted holding a traditional Māori weapon and a dagger, blending futuristic and historical elements.
This series uses recognisable pop culture figures to explore the complexities of a modern Māori worldview in a globalised society.

The Ink-Jet process also enables the creation of multiple prints from the final design.
