Boulder Bank Lighthouse - Woodblock Print | Nic Tucker
The Boulder Bank Lighthouse, built in 1862, served as New Zealand's second permanent lighthouse, protecting ships from the treacherous channel at the Port Nelson end of the Boulder Bank. This historic structure, an octagonal cast-iron tower manufactured by Stothert & Pitt of Bath, England, was registered with Heritage New Zealand as a category I structure in 41. For 120 years, it guided ships safely until its decommission in 1982.
Today, it remains a popular tourist attraction, standing alone as a testament to its past importance in the Nelson harbor. It was even recently given a fresh coat of white paint in October 2018.
Inspired by her understanding of the importance of land, and its connection to people, Nic Tucker creates woodblock prints of New Zealand landscapes that she produces on a printing press located in her Napier studio. From a limited edition, this stunning print of Antartica has been individually signed and numbered by Nic, and is available framed or unframed.

The 'in situ mockup' is merely an example of visual representation within an environment and it does not truly reflect the size of the work. Please refer to the measurements above for the exact dimensions of this print.
