Herring Green Pakohe (Argillite) Pendant - with Sterling Silver | Jeremy Leeming
Using Sterling Silver, and Argillite, Christchurch based jeweller Jeremy Leeming has created this beautiful adjustable Herring Pendant.
Argillite is associated with the Marlborough/Nelson region of Aotearoa. It was quarried by the Māori using the technique of heating the rock with fire and fracturing it with water thrown onto the heated stone face. It was valued for its strength, and ideal for making adzes.
