An exciting array of jewellery, ceramics, paintings, prints, homewares, glass, and sculptural pieces from emerging and established New Zealand artists await The Poi Room visitor.

The ‘poi’ is a vibrant feature of Maori performing arts. In use, the poi’s movement is mesmorising and the soft beating sound is delicious. The feeling of life that the poi evokes translates into The Poi Room experience.

At the heart of The Poi Room is Melanie-Jane, her husband Clayton, and their two daughters, Frankie and Milana. A mother’s strength, Maori ancestry, friends’ honesty and a sense of life and wonder have all led to this new and exciting stepping stone of life.
